I have a feeling I'll be writing more about my favourite Catholic authors, so this is now a series of posts... because I decided it would.
So far on my list of authors whose works I have read and enjoy:
J.R.R. Tolkien (I love him. So much.)
G.K. Chesterton (Need to find more of his stuff!)
C.S. Lewis (Yes, only Narnia... so far.)
What I love most about these authors is that they all wrote fiction. While I appreciate essays, I truly enjoy reading a story. This is why I like allegories, too. Things are left open for interpretation, which encourages me to do my homework and learn more.
...As a side note, I discovered relatively recently (courtesy of my friend, who I shall henceforth name Gilbert) that Tolkien and Lewis were part of an organization called the "Inklings." I discovered this after creating my internet identity. As such, I feel compelled to do more research on their little society and see who else was part of it.

Ink,
You might want to read C.S. Lewis', "The Screwtape Letters". I read it for the first time my senior year in high school, and have re-read it often ever since.
It's a great book!
Peace,
Persis
Charles Williams was a noted writer who was also part of the Inklings (his books include "War in Heaven" and "All Hallows Eve."
Another Catholic writer to consider (a contemporary one, not an Inkling), is Michael O'Brien.
Ink,
Got 90 minutes to spare? As a budding C.S. Lewis fan you might enjoy this.
